Commonly referred to as Nambour Hockey and affectionately known as Blue Demons, the Nambour Blue Demons Hockey Club Inc which is based at Petrie Park, Nambour caters for both men and women while also embracing all age groups from juniors through to veterans.

From humble beginnings in 1977, the club has developed into a major force within Sunshine Coast hockey both in terms of playing strength and sporting achievement. Blue Demons proudly boast impressive clubhouse facilities, two grass playing fields and excellent floodlighting of the main field for night training.

Whether you're looking for an opportunity to pick up playing hockey where you left off in another centre, to get your children started in a team sport, or to get some exercise with hockey for the first time, then Nambour Blue Demons Hockey Club with its focus on friendly, family involvement in the sport can accommodate you.

The club caters for girls and boys from the age of 5 years in minkey/modified hockey through the age divisions to the senior ranks as well as veterans divisions. Nambour Blue Demons fields teams in all divisions of Sunshine Coast Hockey Association fixtures at Ballinger Park, Buderim and caters for the beginners, social and elite players. The Sunshine Coast "Club of the Year" trophy has been proudly displayed in the clubhouse for many years while many individuals have gained selection in State and Australian teams.

Nambour Blue Demons Hockey Club was well represented in 2006 SCHA fixture competitions and supporters had much to cheer about at finals time. For the young ones taking up the challenge for the first time, a very active modified group of around 50 children played in their local Petrie Park competition.

For the past 20 or so years, members of the club have voluntarily assisted with the development of hockey through local schools which has resulted in more than 10 Nambour players being selected in Queensland school representative teams and one in a national team.

There's never been a better time to join the gang at "Nambour Hockey" as the club enters its 31st season. New players, volunteer coaches, umpires, administrators, sponsors and supporters are vital ingredients for the continued development of hockey in the local area. Anyone interested in becoming involved would be most welcome and should contact one of the club officials.
